The company has a rich history which dates back to 170 years. In other words, it has been producing sugar for almost two centuries. During this time it has gone through revolutions, wars, political instability and changed dozens of its leaders.

Kapitanivka sugar refinery is one of the oldest in Ukraine. It was built by Brodsky Oleksiy Oleksiyovych the Count in 1846 and in the first year of its activity it produced 8 centners of sugar. In 1864-65 the plant worked 155 days and processed 12,4 thousand tonnes of sugar beet.

In 1912-14, the refinery was significantly expanded. In 1913, 27 thousand tonnes of beet were processed. The produced sugar was mainly exported.

On December 12, 2002, «Novomyrgorodskyi Sugar» CJSC was created.

In 2010, large-scale changes were made: 16 framed beet cutters were replaced by 12 framed cutters, I and II saturation juice settlers, turbogenerators and I product condenser were installed, the existing ones were modernized. The transformer substation was built and boilers of I and II carbonations were also modernized.

In 2011, additional two cases of evaporation station of A2-VAG-3000 type were installed. Besides, the reconstruction was carried out in the grocery and dry-cleaning departments.

On March 16, 2011, «Novomyrgorodskyi Sugar» Closed Joint Stock Company was reorganized into «Novomyrgorodskyi Sugar» Limited Liability Company.

In 2014, the vacuum devices of I crystallization were reconstructed. The standard-syrup scheme was also introduced.

In 2015, the reconstruction of vacuum devices of II-III crystallization was carried out.

In 2016, the existing centrifuges of the ІІ and ІІІ products were replaced by the continuous centrifuges BMA K3300, as well as the pulp press department was reconstructed. «Mercier» TM-3000 pulp-press was installed.

In 2017, the reconstruction of the pulp press department with the installation of the second «Mercier» TM-3000 pulp press was completed, and the replacement of two existing centrifuges of I product by E-1390 Centrifuges of BMA was carried out.

In 2018, another E-1390 Centrifuge of BMA was installed, the reconstruction of the pulp silo in the inside storage was started.

In 2018, the processing capacity of the refinery amounted to 4,3 thousand tonnes of beet per day.

Nowadays it is the modern European enterprise that introduces new technologies and improves its production. The capacity of the plant increased to 550-600 tonnes of sugar per day.

The main sugar beet suppliers are «Pancheve» PE AF, «Osytnianske» LLC, «Agro-Prim» LLC, and «Chkalova» LLC AF.

«Novomyrgorodskyi Sugar» LLC plans to switch to the alternative fuels in the nearest future.

The company produces sugar of the second and third categories under «Novomyrgorodskyi Sugar» LLC TM. All by-products are sold in the domestic market.
